The West Edge project presented an interesting alternative to the typical multi-family, mixed use complex. Having it located at one of the busiest sections of West LA and Los Angeles as a whole, the necessity for a high-flow corridor / common space is paramount. Access to the commercial units, grocery store and other businesses should be prioritized. But at the same time, there needs to be a sense of quaint and peaceful energy, separated from the rushing traffic and metro rail energies. The central commerce courtyard with naturally flowing visual lines into the resident spaces, seating areas, and business accessibility has put a serene experience for the various resident and business patrons.
The highlight for us and our client was to capture the mesmerizing visual warmth, allure and functionality of the neon-lit cavernous amphitheater entryway that sucks you into the resident apartments lobby area. This among other unique design elements sets West Edge apart from the masses.
